Voter and Election Education
At the League of Women Voters of Bloomington, we are committed to educating our community about the electoral process and ensuring that every voter has access to the information they need to make informed decisions. Through our comprehensive voter education efforts, we strive to empower citizens to participate actively in democracy.
Nonpartisan Voter Guides
A cornerstone of our voter education efforts is the distribution of nonpartisan voter guides. These guides provide clear, unbiased information about candidates, ballot measures, and key election dates. By presenting facts without endorsing any party or candidate, our voter guides help community members make informed choices at the polls.
Distribution Across the Community
To ensure that everyone has access to our voter guides, we distribute them widely throughout Bloomington. We distribute our guide to households in select precincts in Bloomington.
Community Events and Festivals
We actively participate in community events and festivals, where our volunteers distribute voter guides and engage with residents. These events provide an excellent opportunity to reach a diverse audience, answer questions, and promote voter education in a friendly and approachable setting.
Multilingual Resources
Understanding that our community is diverse, we offer voter guides in multiple languages to cater to non-English-speaking residents. This effort ensures that language barriers do not prevent anyone from accessing crucial election information. By providing materials in different languages, we strive to make the voting process more inclusive and accessible for all community members.
Educational Workshops and Presentations
In addition to distributing voter guides, our members also present to the community—at schools and community organizations—about issues related to democracy, voting, and other issues within our platform. If you would like one of our members speak to your class or group, please get in touch!
We'd love to hear from you! Whether you have questions, want to get involved, or need assistance, feel free to reach out. Together, we can make a difference. Join us in our mission to empower voters and defend democracy in Bloomington, Minnesota.
